Should I go for him, even though he's Taken?

He's not taken, he's only been dating for 3 months. Go for it. But beware--if this guy is or has ever been attracted to this woman in California who is so appalling, then he's got issues. Sounds to me like he avoids committment, and is using this long-distance relationship to stay untouched and without responsibility. He can be all awesome with you now because he's officially unavailable. Once he breakes up with this woman and is free, he'll turn into a different guy, one who resents any obligations or responsibility. I hope I'm wrong.
